Trip: "Polar to Solar" Outdoor Ed, Spring 2014

Location: Mount Sopris and Moonwash Gulch, UT

Teachers: Travis Moore and Andre Wille

Medium: Creative Journaling

Feel the sun against your face

And the sand beneath your feet

But recall the frigid place

With all the Mountain House you can eat

As you scamper over rocks

And explore these remote lands

Remember the frozen pairs of socks

And the warm gloves on your hands

Rub the sunburn on your nose

And watch the stars in bed

Feel the numbness of your toes

And keep going when they're red

Breathe in the warm, dry desert air

And hear the deafening silence

The gusts of wind rushing through your hair

And know the world to be timeless

Confront the wrath of nature

With power, strength, and brawn

Looking into the eyes of danger

Just saying 'bring it on.'
